AskaFrnd Privacy Policy

AskaFrnd ("the app", "we", "us") is developed by QSparx. This policy explains what
information the app collects, why, and how you can remove it. AskaFrnd is built
to run on as little personal data as possible. There is no advertising, no
analytics tracking, and nothing is ever sold.
In short: AskaFrnd stores your name, email, and profile photo
from Google/Apple sign-in; the circles and decisions you create; and the
names/contact info of friends you invite as "experts." Nothing is shared with
advertisers. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time
from the Profile screen.
Information we collect
- Account info: when you sign in with Google or Apple, we
receive your name, email address, and profile photo to create your account.
- Contacts (optional): if you choose to add an "expert" from
your phone's contact list, we store that contact's name, email, and/or phone
number so we can link them to their AskaFrnd account or invite them. We only
access contacts you explicitly pick. The app never reads your full address
book in the background.
- Content you create: circles, decision questions,
photos you attach to a decision, and votes/comments you or your experts
submit.
- Things you own (Collections): the items, photos, notes and
collections you add in the Collections tab. They're private to you unless you choose
to share them with a friend.
- Your area (optional): if you add it in Profile, your
city, region and country, typed in or filled in from your device's
location once when you tap "Use my location". We use only an approximate
reading for that and never store your coordinates or exact location.
- Push notification token: a device token (via Firebase
Cloud Messaging) so we can notify you when someone votes, sends you a
question, or nominates you as an expert. We do not use this token
for anything else.
What we don't do
- No advertising or ad-tracking SDKs of any kind.
- No analytics or usage-tracking services. We don't know how you use the
app beyond what's needed for it to function.
- We never sell or share your data with third parties for marketing.
How your information is used
Your account info identifies you to friends you add as experts or who add you.
Contact info you add is used only to link an invite to the right person and to
notify them. Photos and decision content are shown only to the experts you
choose for that circle. Push tokens are used solely to deliver in-app
notifications (votes, new questions, expert nominations, sharing requests).
If you share your collections with a friend, that friend can see the items, photos and
notes in the collections you choose, along with your area if you've added
one. Sharing always goes both ways and either of you can stop it at any time,
after which they can no longer see your items. Your area is never shown to
anyone you don't share with.
Where your data lives
All data is stored using Google Firebase (Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud
Messaging, and Firebase Authentication), operated under Google's own security
and privacy practices. We do not run our own servers or databases outside of
Firebase.
Account and data deletion
You can permanently delete your account from Profile → Delete
account at any time. This removes your profile, circles, decisions,
photos, votes, Collections items, sharing and area, including your entry from any
friend's expert panel who added you. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
Children's privacy
AskaFrnd is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect
information from them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will reflect it. Material
changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
